Your lawn still needs a bit of care, despite the fact that growth slows at this time of year. Try to keep off the grass in winter but make an effort to get rid of weeds and moss that creep in. Inspect the grass; is it patchy in places? If so it could be time to replace your turf.

Think About the Birds!

Winter time can be hard for birds and other small creatures, so why not add a bird feeder to your garden? This is a great feature to have and will certainly keep the birds happy – you’ll have great fun spotting the birds as they come to feed!

Shrubbery Care

This is an excellent time to take care of your shrubbery by shaping it and getting rid of any dead or diseased parts of the plant. Prune your plants that bloom in summer and chop the heads of autumn flowering plants which are past their best – they may get a second or third bloom if you’re lucky.

Start a Compost Bin

Start a compost bin if you do not already have one. This is the perfect time to do it as you will have to clean up dead leaves, and you will need somewhere to put all of your trimmings. Give it a stir and leave it to mature and to be used in summer time!
