Throw the Perfect Autumn Garden Party

Throw the Perfect Autumn Garden Party

March 30, 2015

Between Halloween and Bonfire Night, autumn really does provide plenty of opportunity to utilise your garden, and continue to enjoy it no matter what the weather or season.

Even though the nights may be colder, your garden is still the ideal location for any type of party, and there are plenty of ways to make it party-perfect all year round. After all, there’s nothing better than sitting out in the great outdoors whilst enjoying a hot toddy (or two!), and not having to worry about tipsy spillages on the your new cream carpet!

Here’s a few great tips to transform your garden from summer haven to winter wonderland.

Provide warmth

It’s so important to keep your guests warm, so be sure to provide enough blankets and extra jumpers for your lovely guests on arrival! If you have a big garden, why not create a gorgeous fire-pit area and provide a relaxing space to enjoy the warmth of a beautiful, and seasonal, crackling flame. For electrical heat sources, outdoor heaters are a fantastic way to heat up the cooler airs relatively quickly, and are most effective in smaller outdoor spaces.

If you’re planning to throw a bonfire party, be sure to consider the safety regulations before building your bonfire. And of course please search it well before lighting for any hedgehogs or garden creatures that may have climbed in for warmth and a place to hibernate. For more information please read this article. Provide a good menu

A great way of keeping your guests warm and happy is with good food, so be sure to provide yummy meals that will warm them up! For sit down meals, offer hot pots, chillis, stews and soups to give your guests a lovely autumn snack-variation. For buffets or casual events, snacks and platters are ideal as guests can eat whilst socialising. For food inspiration, check out these tasty autumn treats from the BBC. Remember the veggies of the season too, so be sure to try to add pumpkin, carrot, squash, apple and banana to your kitchen creations!

Provide comfortable furniture

When it comes to winter, the quality of your furniture can be really tested, so we don’t recommend you get your best plastic chairs out of storage if you want to impress your guests! Luxury garden furniture should be as good a quality as your interior furniture, making your guests feel as comfortable as they would indoors. Choose garden furniture that will last and that you can enjoy all year round, cheap furniture will weather easily and start to look shabby and untidy.
